At the beginning of the book, we meet a wealthy and God-fearing man named Job. He surveys his flocks and his great possessions in peace. Yet in the very next scene, his wealth and tranquility are placed in jeopardy. We become witnesses to a conversation in heaven: God delights in His faithful servant Job, but Satan casts doubt on his devotion and asks to put it to the test.
Will he succeed? Will Job continue to love God despite the terrible disasters that strike him? We will walk alongside Job and see how his wife responded, what his friends said, and how he himself reacted. In the end, we will learn with him the lesson of God’s unfailing faithfulness.
