Joshua, son of Nun, was the servant and disciple of Moses, accompanying him throughout the journey in the wilderness. He was chosen to succeed Moses, and the mission of leading the people into Canaan was entrusted to him. Through a long series of miracles, the land was conquered and eventually divided among the tribes. Joshua completed his mission. At the end of his life, at the age of 120, he took leave of the people. In his farewell speech, he reminded the Israelites how God had helped them, urged them to serve the Lord, and declared: “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
