“By telling these narratives, I have tried to convey the Biblical message in a childlike way, but with the realization that only the Bible is the Word of God. It is definitely not my intention to give children a so-called Children’s Bible to replace the Bible. On the contrary, I have always tried to point to the Bible. Therefore, children are recommended not to read these narratives instead of the Bible, but along with the Bible, so that they learn to listen carefully when the Bible is read.” (C. J. Meeuse)
In this book, we will accompany Ruth the Moabite and her mother-in-law Naomi on their journey from Moab to Bethlehem. We will see how Ruth chooses to follow Naomi, and how God rewards her faithfulness—showing her kindness, providing for her and her mother-in-law, and restoring their lives.
God sends them a redeemer, a close relative who restores their land and their honor. We will learn what this redeemer symbolizes and how he influenced not only the destiny of the people of Israel but also the destiny of each one of us. Together, we will discover the lessons we can draw from the story of Ruth and her family, and the plan God has prepared for all who choose to walk in His ways and cling to Him in faithfulness.
