This book invites us to accompany Zechariah the priest to the Temple in Jerusalem. Together with him, we will hear the announcement of the birth of his son, John. Immediately afterward, we will hear the joyful message that the angel Gabriel brings to Mary in Nazareth. From there, we will follow her and Joseph, witnessing the many trials the young family endured until the great moment of the birth of the Messiah—and even beyond.

Along the way, we will see how many Old Testament prophecies are fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah, foremost among them the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
