The Bible was written thousands of years ago. Hebrew speakers have the rare privilege to read it in its original language, yet all have trouble understanding the Masoretic text. The difficulty in understanding the Scriptures deters readers, especially children and youth. The Testimony series provides the answer. The Testimony is a translation of the books of the Old Testament into modern Hebrew, suitable for youth. It is written in clear language and is rich in spectacular illustrations that help the reader to understand the Scriptures and to enjoy their wealth. The purpose of the Testimony series is not to replace the original text, but to provide parallel utilities. We aim to facilitate the understanding of the Bible for young readers and encourage them to learn the Bible in its original language. The Testimony is presented to the reader due to the recognition of the importance of the Bible, the most important legacy of our people, and also to like it on the youth hopefully.
Upon completing its work on the entire Old Testament, HaGefen recognized the importance of also publishing the HaEdut edition of the New Testament, as we believe that the New Testament is a direct and inseparable continuation of the Word of God.
While the New Testament—both in its original Greek and in existing Hebrew translations—may be more accessible to readers than the Hebrew Bible, this edition has nevertheless undergone a careful and comprehensive adaptation. Special attention has been given to making the language clear, engaging, and approachable for young readers, ensuring a meaningful and enriching reading experience.
